The Corona de Tucson, located near Sahuarita and Houghton Roads, was originally in the rural parts of Pima County that consisted of cattle ranches.
In 1964 Horizon Land Company purchased a large part of the Andrada Ranch and in conjunction with a group of investors attempted to create a community.
Today, this settlement is just a few miles southeast of the Tucson city limits and a mile or so west of unincorporated Vail. Corona de Tucson is a growing rural community convenient to big city amenities and is easily accessible from I-10.
